So you're invited to a golf game by a good friend or a family member, you're a beginning golfer and you are nervous about embarrassing yourself on the golf course. PAR- The number of strokes a first-class player should normally require for a particular hole. MULLIGAN- A mulligan is a second chance to perform another swing after the first chance went wrong through bad luck or a blunder. SLICE- Strike (the ball) or play (a stroke) so that the ball curves to the right ( for a left-handed player, the left) typically inadvertently. BIRDIE- A score of one stroke under par at a hole. BOGEY- A score of one stroke over par at a hole. DOUBLE BOGEY- When a golfer scores two strokes over par. TRIPLE BOGEY- When a golfer scores three strokes over par.
