The 2023 Masters Tournament Played at Augusta National
The 2023 Masters Tournament was full of surprises this year, opening round 1 on Thursday April 6 with a plethora of golf pros, and past champions. Some of those that graced the course of Augusta National would include Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, Jason Spieth, and many more. This years purse is an estimated $15,000,000 with many golfers seeking to be one of the top tier winners. For the duration of the tournament Brooks Koepka held the number one position with Jon Rahm trailing behind. Tiger Woods (a five time Masters winner) and Phil Mickelson ( a three time Masters winner) were trying to get there bearing in round 1 and 2. With round 2 being plagued with heavy rain the event had to be suspended and upon resuming the next day it brought round 2 to a close. Unfortunately Tiger had to withdraw from the tournament towards the end due to a foot injury. In the final round Phil Mickelson had the best round yet to come from 9th place and finish in second place with Jon Rahm taking the lead and finishing first. 2nd place was held in tie by Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka.
